+The e1000+e1000e pair should be more than sufficient for the
+"ancient non-virtio NIC" use case.
+
+There does not appear to be any compelling reason to continue supporting
+the rtl8139 NIC, so we should deprecate it in RHEL-10, with a view to
+deleting it in RHEL-11.
+
